The Ice Rink is a public facility and no fees will be charged for open recreation use. The ice rink measures 88’x44’ and was donated by the Norwalk Iowa Lions Club.
The Ice Rink is open for skating during the winter, when weather permits.
Ice Rink Status = CLOSED FOR THE SEASON!
A traffic signal (stop light) has been installed at the Ice Rink.
Green = rink is open and conditions are suitable for skating
Red = rink is closed
NOTE: The Ice Rink is closed when posted due to weather, ice conditions or maintenance if there is damage to the rink or if the ice has melted.
Reminder: It is open when the signals shows green. Please avoid the ice when the light is red. Any damage to the rink can cause a temporary or permanent closure. Please be respectful!

Ice Rink Rules:
The use of the ice skating rink has an inherent risk and any participation is totally at the users own risk. No responsibility by the City of Norwalk is accepted or undertaken for the well-being of the user or their property.
Maximum Ice Rink capacity: 77
*The rink is not supervised.
*All skaters are advised that they are skating at their own risk.
*Ice skating, by its nature, is a hazardous activity, falls are common. Rink users are strongly encouraged to wear helmets and other protective gear.
*All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
*Please skate in a counter clockwise direction.
*Beginning skaters should stay near the outside edge.
*All skaters must wear ice skates.
*Bring your own skates and equipment.
*Sticks and pucks are only allowed during hockey hours.
*Helmets are required while hockey pucks are in use. Other protective gear is highly recommended.
*Know your ability while on skates and maintain proper lookout to avoid other skaters.
*Be courteous and share the ice.
*Be aware of soft spots, rough edges, water puddles and other hazards on the ice.
*Use caution entering and exiting the ice rink.
*Skaters and spectators must not sit on, lean over or leave articles on the dasher boards.
*No food, drink or pets allowed on the ice.
*Do not skate under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other control-impairing substance.
*Abusive behavior, language or rough play will not be tolerated. Participants will be asked to leave the premises.
*Kicking holes, chipping or gouging in the ice is strictly forbidden.
*Please do not take nets onto the ice if temperature is 20 degrees or warmer and sunshine during the daylight hours.
*Do Not skate if the rink has been damaged or ice has melted.
*Ice rink use is on a first-come, first-served basis. If sharing the rink is not an option and others are waiting to use the rink, a 60-minute limit will apply.
