Bike Safety Day
Norwalk Parks and Recreation partners with Norwalk Police Department, Fire Department, and many sponsors to put on this event. Participants will bring their bikes and get their bike inspected as well as a ride a safety course. There will be a guest speaker talking about bike safety. After completing the course the group will be led on a bike ride in the area surrounding the Norwalk Public Safety Building. Bike helmets will be worn during the ride. Each register child (age 5 to 5th grade) will have a chance to win door prizes as well as a brand new bike and you must be present to win. Parent volunteers are welcome and are encouraged to ride along with their child if under the age of 7. Free helmets and t-shirts are given to participants. Refreshments are provided. Located at the Norwalk Public Safety building.

Flashlight Age Group Easter Egg Hunt
When the sun goes down, the fun begins. You are required to bring your own flashlight (size limited to no larger than 2 "D" cell batteries.) An adult must accompany all children. The Easter Egg hunt will start at 8:00 pm. Please meet at the Norwalk McAninch Sports Complex parking lot no earlier than 7:45 pm and the children will be released from there. There will be a limit of 20 eggs per child. If you don't get 20, please see the Parks and Recreation personnel. Please be considerate of others and only pick up the amount you are allotted. They will be split up into age groups, with one age group per field; 2 yrs old & under, 3 & 4 yrs old, 5 & 6 yrs old, 7 & 8 yrs old, and 9 and above. Parks and Recreation staff will announce each age group and when they can start looking for eggs. Please do not start looking for eggs before staff tell you to start. The eggs will be filled with candy, small toys, stickers or special prizes. Located at the Norwalk McAninch Sports Complex.

Elizabeth Holland Park Color Run- 2022
Join us for Elizabeth Holland Park Grand Opening with a 1 mile Color Run! Check in begins at 5:30 pm. Colorful Gaiters will be provided for every registered participant, to assist in keeping powder out of your nose and mouth.
Wear white clothing and running shoes that can get stained. We suggest cotton based material. The powder is designed to wash out of most fabrics but we do not guarantee it will. Tutus, fuzzy boas, crazy hair, and any other dress up items are welcome! This is a time to express yourself so go all out! Sunglasses or eye wear are recommended to keep the powder out of your eyes.

Moonlight Movie Night
The Parks and Recreation Department will host Moonlight Movie Night at McAninch Sports Complex this Summer. Grab a blanket or chairs and join us for a Movie under the moonlight! Warrior Eats concession stand will be open with for the event with a limited menu for your snack and drink needs.

Mommy & Me Dance
The Park and Recreation Department will host Mothers and their child(ren) for an evening filled with dancing, fun, light snacks, dessert and photo opportunities. If mom is not available, an aunt, sister, grandmother or mother figure is always welcome. All ages are welcome!

Daddy & Me Dance
The Park and Recreation Department will host the social event of the year, an evening filled with dancing and fun. Dads, parents, relatives, guardians and/or role models are invited to bring their daughter(s) to the Daddy & Me Dance and enjoy light snacks, dessert, photo booth opportunities and lots of memories. All ages are welcome!

Before you head out for a ghostly fun time in your neighborhood be sure to stop by the Public Safety Building to pick up your trick-or-treat bag, glow sticks, and treats. This event is for children in Preschool to 5th grade.
